Wild Stumble: Wenatchee shut out by visiting Royals

WENATCHEE — Spencer Michnik made 22 saves for a shutout as the Victoria Royals defeated the Wenatchee Wild 3-0 in Western Hockey League action Saturday night at Town Toyota Center. Logan Pickford opened the scoring early in the first period, Justin Kipkie added a goal late in the second, and Reggie Newman sealed the win with an empty-netter. Daniel Hauser stopped 23 shots for Wenatchee in the loss. The Wild, now 2-2-1-0, will host the Kamloops Blazers on Sunday afternoon as they seek to continue their trend of closing weekends with wins.
