Posted

CHELAN - The Chelan City Council and Lake Chelan Airport Board are scheduled to meet on October 8.

The City Council agenda includes special presentations recognizing the Chelan Wastewater Treatment Plant for its 2023 Outstanding Performance Award. Mayor Erin McCardle will issue proclamations for Arbor Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The council will consider a proposed amendment to the Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Public Works Director Jake Youngren will present results from a recent community survey and transportation open house on infrastructure priorities.

Proposed additions to the STIP include a Neighborhood Sidewalk Expansion Initiative, an ADA Compliance Improvement Project, and converting the Woodin Avenue Bridge to two-way traffic.

The council will discuss the Community Benefit Grant Policy, which would allocate Short Term Rental (STR) license fees to local non-profit organizations. HR/Communications Director Chad Coltman recommends setting the 2025 grant amount at $111,250, based on projected STR license revenue.

The Lake Chelan Airport Board meeting agenda includes approval of the September 24 meeting minutes and the consent agenda, covering accounts payable and payroll checks.

These meetings address infrastructure projects, community grant programs, and airport operations for the City of Chelan.
